Hi,
I’m going to begin listing some book recommendations. I
don’t mean these as to be complete reviews and I may not
endorse everything a particular author says (naturally).
Honestly, I don’t know how many I’ll list because it may be
pretty sporadic: but at least I’ll begin, <grin>.

Ruthless Trust by Brennan Manning
Obviously, I love this book. Honestly, I feel he has some
of the most challenging thoughts on trust I’ve ever read.
I do find myself returning to this book — even if it’s only
to break it open and “see where I land.” Most always that
process is even a blessing.
For me, the book…
1. Challenges me to think
2. Challenges me to reflect on God.
3. Makes me think of “the basics” of the Christian life.
(You may see these three points often since I’m drawn to
material that drives in those three directions.)

Just Walk Across The Room by Bill Hybels
This book is fantastic in my opinion. I have more
underlining, stickers, etc. than you can imagine.
I quote the book in my classes and recommend it to about
everyone who is interested in evangelism.
It is…
1. Personally challenging.
2. Very “hands on” in terms of applying what Bill suggests.
3. A book that draws the reader back to dependence on the
Lord and sensitivity to His spirit.
4. An easy read.
I can’t imagine you won’t love it!

A Resilient Life by Gordon MacDonald
I am currently reading this book. Up to page 105 (out of
243).
Wow.
I feel as if he sits back, reflects, and teaches me about
what living for Jesus over the long haul means.
I believe Gordon would take that as a compliment.
I have always been fascinated with the process of recording
what might be termed life insights — or hearing what others
would say about living a quality life.
In my way of thinking, MacDonald does that.
I find myself “listening” because of…
1. The manner of his writing.
2. And the man who is doing the writing.
No stranger to both success and pain, I feel he writes from
the heart about what matters most about a heart given over
to following Jesus till the end.
A valuable read.
